Родился Ярослав 8 февраля 2000 года. В 2021 году получил звание лейтенанта и прибыл на службу в 90-й отдельный аэромобильный батальон (81-я отдельная аэромобильная бригада), где занимал должность командира взвода, позже – командира роты. За время службы Ярослав Походня был награжден почетным нагрудным знаком главнокомандующего ВСУ "За достижения в военной службе ІІ степени" и орденом "За мужество" ІІІ степени. 20 мая 2023 во время боев в районе населённого пункта Богородичное военный погиб.
