Погиб, когда вел мобилизованных бойцов в бой 11 ноября 2023, взорвавшись на мине. Старший лейтенант, заместитель командира роты разведки 92 ОШБр. Макар получил смертельное ранение у села Андреевка под Бахмутом. Ранее участвовал в боях за Купянск и Красный Лиман.

Как хоккеист Макар Ерофеев играл за днепровские клубы: «Зенит», «Ястребы» и «Аврора».
