In a wartime, fighters are assigned to units. When a fighter dies, is captured, disappears, receives a reward, and generally gets into the news, not only he himself is often mentioned, but also his unit.
We have compiled a list of 221 units, whose members somehow marked themselves in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). Some of these units are well known. The existence of others is in question (at least one of the listed below is highly likely a human error in the source, but we have not been able to independently refute this source).
For 74 units, we did not find any information at all, except for the unit number. For some, we have not yet entered information. For others, there is practically no information publicly available.
An interesting fact: a search in our database for the keyword "Bakhmut" (that is, without the surrounding villages) gives 2,645 results (this means that we have information about 2,645 missing, captured, and killed people there). For comparison, searching for the keyword "Mariupol" yields only 2,304 results.
This time we also decided to publish a rather small .xlsx table with the titles of those units: https://wartears.org/media/posts/2023-05-20-battle-for-bakhmut/AFU-units-in-battle-for-Bakhmut.xlsx
Below is the detailed list of units itself.
